Edo State Taskforce Against Human Trafficking (ETAHT) was set up by the Edo State Government to stem the trend of human trafficking and irregular migration in the state and eliminate the associated stigma. We are passionate about ending the loss of precious Human Resources to modern day slavery.
Clearly, we cannot as Edo people, afford to be stigmatised and taunted anymore on the issue of human trafficking...It is like trafficking is now synonymous with Edo state and it is unacceptable. As a government, we have decided to take the bull by the horn and take actions ourselves. We cannot accept this disgrace anymore
His Excellency, Mr. Godwin N. Obaseki
Executive Governor of Edo State, on the formation of ETAHT
We continually strengthen our strategic partnerships with social local and international partners like the IOM and UNDP, in assisting the voluntary return of Edo migrants and conducting training programmes geared towards economic stability and social inclusion.
We implement advocacy programs independently and in collaboration with our social partners for increased reach and impact towards enlightenment and enabling behavioural change in the susceptible populace.
